Taj Murdock

President/CEO - Board Member - Mentor

 Taj Murdock is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder at The Empowerment Achievement Movement Inc. (T.E.A.M. INC.). In 2015, he founded Men Of Courage, a mentoring program for young men 12-18 with a mission of “Empowerment Through Exposure”, which currently serves over 30 Young Kings.

 

He is an entrepreneur/Community Leader/Mental Heath Advocate/MotivationalSpeaker who has also been a Professional Barber, Stylist, and Hair Care professional for 30 years who has worked with such celebrities as Rasheed Wallace, Scottie Pippen,
Boyz II Men, and Bow-Wow as their barber.


As an advocate for normalizing therapy & mental health awareness, Taj works closely alongside Black Men Heal, which is a Nationally recognized organization thatoffers 8 free therapy sessions to men of color & a weekly virtual safe space for men.


It was in 2020, that Taj was also awarded the Mayor’s PHILLY Hero Award from the City Of Philadelphia for his work in the community.He has since been awarded several times by Nu Phi Beta Sigma fraternity, Philadelphia Office of Violence Prevention, and
others for his dedication to building the next generation of black male leaders.


To date, Men Of Courage has a 100% High School graduation rate and a 0% incarceration rate amongst the Young Kings that actively participate in his mentorship program.

 

Taj believes that mentorship & creating social and emotional intelligence will be the key to redirecting the self-destruction of our young men. His core belief is that if we reshape the role and identity of the Black Male, we reshape the identity of the Black
Family and the Black Community.

 We are proud of our mentoring team. Each mentor serves as a positive role model and through their lived experiences can lend both their ear to listen, and also impart valuable wisdom and insight to the mentees.

Dr. Brian Moore, DDS
Board Member - Mentor

  Dr. Moore was born in Harrisburg Pennsylvania. He relocated to Philadelphia and has been specializing in Orthodontics since 1989

 In addition, he served for six years as an adjunct assistant clinical professor at Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry in the Department of Orthodontics.

Tre King
Mentor

 Roland King (known as Tre to most) is a 26-year-old who recently had his first child. I am from Philadelphia, PA, and have gone through the Men of a Courage program and graduated from the program. I went to the Academy at Palumbo where i graduated with a GPA of 3.67. I have a bachelor's degree from Robert Morris University where I majored in Sports Management with a minor in finance. I now work at FS Investments as a business development associate and have worked there for 3 years.. My favorite sport is football and my favorite teams are the Eagles, Phillies, and Sixers.

Dr. Brian D. Moore, DDS

Leslie Crudup - Secretary

  Leslie Crudup is a distinguished professional with extensive educational and certification credentials. She holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science in Management from Penn State University. Her commitment to education is further demonstrated by her certification as a Special Education Teacher through ABCTE in 2024. In addition to her teaching qualifications, Leslie became a Notary Signing Agent in June 2024 and is a Certified Life Coach, having earned her certification from the HCI Institute in 2020.

Charlotte Andrews
LBS, LPC, NCC, ACS, CESP, JD

 As a Licensed Professional Counselor in PA and NJ, a Licensed Behavior Specialist,
and a Certified Employment Support Professional, I am passionate about fostering
mental wellness and empowerment in diverse communities. With a law degree from
Mitchell-Hamline School of Law, I bring a unique perspective to my work, combining
legal insights with therapeutic practice. Currently, I serve as the Clinical Director of
Black Men Heal, is a nonprofit dedicated to providing free therapy to men of color across
nine states.

Stan Daniels - Mentor
Lead Mentor/Graphic Designer -

Brandon Brichette 
Mentor

Brandon Burchette is a Pittsburgh native currently residing in Philadelphia. His Alma matter is Penn State as of 2019, which is when he graduated with a degree in Communications - Journalism.

 

Brandon is currently working as an Account Executive for a UK-based technology recruitment company. His hobbies include music, reading, sports, and spending time in nature.

Dr. Courtland Lee
Board member/Mentor

 Dr. Courtland Lee has attained international recognition as an expert in the field of Counseling and the Psychoeducational development of Black males.

 He is the author of three books on counseling African American males. In addition, he has published numerous book chapters and articles on counseling Black men and male youth.

Alexis

  Alexa grew up in Maryland and has ties to North Carolina. She attended East Carolina University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education. After over ten years of working in the public school system, Alexa continues to be involved in the community by advocating for and supporting children and young adults with disabilities. Her passion lies in creating inclusive environments where everyone can thrive. In her free time, she enjoys being in nature, training dogs, music, and diving into a good book.  

Andrea Edwards
Treasurer

 I'm Andrea M. Edwards, a proud mother of an energetic soon-to-be five-year-old who keeps me on my toes. For the past three years, I've been fully immersed in the entrepreneurial world, which has been an incredibly rewarding journey. My academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in science from Pennsylvania State University, followed by a master’s degree from Saint Joseph’s University. I transitioned from academia to the corporate sector, where I honed my skills in customer service through various managerial roles.
